Tremont Retail District

The Tremont retail district is already known for a number of restaurants and galleries frequently patronized during the evening hours. The lighting improvements include a number of options that, when implemented, will create a fully luminous nighttime environment. These options can be implemented in phases; each one layered upon the other as funding permits.

Buildings will be illuminated in a manner to highlight the unique architectural structure and draw patrons into the space. Lower rooftops and awnings will be illuminated with gooseneck luminaires highlighting that architectural plane, while columns will be adorned with either wall sconces or up/down lights to accent building details. Where appropriate, restaurants or galleries perhaps, color may be introduced for additional accent. Overhead directional lighting providing a “color path” on the sidewalks may appear in various locations as a playful design accent.
