Home for JRS/Tsunami

This site is dedicated to the memory of the Tsunami, the first original homebuilt unlimited racer since 1939. Tsunami was designed for speed record attempts and air racing.

We are raising funds to rebuild this historic plane. If you would like to donate towards our goal of rebuilding Tsunami, please go to the Fund Raising page and click on the Donate button or learn other ways that you can help. All donations are tax deductable.

We hope you will enjoy learning more about Tsunami and its contribution to the history of Aviation.

My father, John R. Sandberg, was owner of Tsunami. We have included his bio here as well as other articles related to other members of the team who designed and built Tsunami. Check out the links we provide here. The Hellcat and Tipsy Miss links are photo archives from the days when my father owned these planes. The Wendover 1989 pictures are from the 3 km speed record attempt with Tsunami. We hope you enjoy this information as well.
